A qualified professional member of The Rock Indoor Sports & Entertainment Complex staff, familiar with all necessary equipment and procedures, will be available for you throughout your event. Specialists in all sports and activities are on staff. Additional personnel are available for supervising children, serving food, etc.
When plans are made for your event, the contract and price will include the appropriate staffing to coordinate your event. We'll make sure there are no last minute "surprises," and that everything runs smoothly.
Pat Buckley: Director of Basketball/Head Trainer Pat Buckley brings 13 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level to The Rock. Coach Buckley began his coaching career at Paramus Catholic High School as the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach under current Northern Highlands High School, NJ, head coach Mike Stone for the 1997-99 seasons. He also served as an assistant at Dominican College (NCAA DII) during the 2000-01 & 2003-05 seasons, where he was in charge of recruiting and player development under Coach Joe Clinton. During the 2000-2001 season, the Chargers won the CACC championship and qualified for the National Tournament. He also spent 2005-06 season as the assistant varsity coach at Ridgewood High School, NJ, under head coach Mike Troy. Pat’s head coaching experience includes stints as the Head Boys Varsity Coach at Tappan Zee High School (2000-02) and most recently at Sleepy Hollow High School (2007-09). Pat spent 3 years coaching the Chase the Game 17U AAU team which was made up of All-county players from Rockland, Bergen, and New York City. He has also worked numerous camps throughout the country, including 5 Star and Duke University Basketball Camps.
Born and raised in Rockland County, NY, Pat played his CYO days at St. Augustine's in New City. He then went on to Albertus Magnus High School where he helped lead the Falcons to a 40-5 record in 2 seasons under coaches Tom Collins and Joe McGuinness. During his senior year, Albertus won the 1993 Section 1 Class B Championship where Pat earned MVP honors. Pat was selected first team all county as well as the 1993 Rockland County Player of the Year.
Pat went on to play at Catholic University in Washington D.C. where he was a 4 year starting guard under current University of Vermont Head Coach Mike Lonergan. Pat graduated as team captain, a 1,000 point scorer, and 2nd all-time in 3-point shots made with 267. His junior season, the Cardinals qualified for the NCAA DIII tournament.
Pat graduated from Catholic University in 1997. He then went on to earn his Master's Degree from The City College of New York in Special Education. He is employed by Rockland BOCES as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. He, and his wife Allison, reside in New City, NY with their daughters, Anna, 3 and Julia, 1.
